March 2 – 4, 2018

Screen Shot 2016-07-15 at 12.37.04 PMAbout Chod
Chod is a powerful, advanced Tantric practice. “Chöd” means “cutting.” Through chöd practice, we can learn to cut through obstacles and illusions, freeing ourselves from the illusions of self and others, and thus cutting off the source of pain and suffering. The Laughter of the Khandros is an important Bön chöd teaching.

Geshe Nyima Kunchap, a senior Bön master, will present this important teaching. Though the Laughter of the Khandros, Geshe Nyima Kunchap will teach us what we need to prepare ourselves for Chöd practice, and how to practice Chöd properly and effectively.

This retreat begins with instruction in the Six Perfections, which are Generosity, Discipline, Patience, Perseverance, Inner Awareness, and Wisdom Awareness. The retreat continues with instruction in the Chöd practice, and the use of the Damaru (hand-held drum). The retreat will also include personal practice time, and time for individual practice questions with Geshe Kunchap. The retreat will conclude with the transmission of the teaching, a spiritual blessing that is passed down in an unbroken lineage and protects the students on this advanced path of practice.

There will also be other events during this retreat to help you discover the Mystery of the Khandros. The laugher of the Khandros, the sound of the Chöd, the smell of incense throughout the resort and so much more to help you feel the power of the Khandros.

Regarding the Damaru Chod: We encourage everyone to bring their own damaru drum, but Yeru will have some available for the weekend and for sale.
