Calm Abiding Meditation Retreat

A Peaceful Mind

*Early Registration is required by September 1, 2015.*

For most of us, our mind is a constant, turbulent stream of non-stop thoughts, disturbing our inner peace and concentration, and adding to our stress and health problems. Meditation allows us to find an internal calm, and remain focused and peaceful. This enables us to transform our mind from a turbulent stream to a calm pond of clear water.

Modern medical science and ancient spiritual traditions both understand the benefits of meditation to settle and calm our mind.

In this retreat, Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche, one of the modern masters of the ancient Tibetan Bon Tradition, will teach a form of meditation known as Zhi Ney (“calm abiding”), a fundamental mindfulness awareness practice. Zhi Ney practice strengthens and improves our meditation, and settles and calms our mind.

Why Meditate?

A large body of research has established that having a regular meditation practice produces tangible benefits of our mental and physical wellbeing.

• Stress Reduction

• Enhanced concentration, memory and the ability to learn

• More harmonious, loving relationships

• Improved creativity and problem solving skills

• Decreased depression, anxiety and insomnia

• Improved immune function

• Increased production of the anti-aging hormone DHEA

• More efficient oxygen use by the body

• Lower blood pressure and hypertension

• Lower cholesterol levels

• Reduction of symptoms of many diseases and health conditions.

Healing can happen when the mind is calm, alert and totally content. To attain a perfect state of health, one has to remain mentally calm, steady and emotionally stable.

Who Can Benefit From This Retreat?

This retreat is of great benefit to many people. Health care professionals and care givers can use this meditation technique to improve their focus and concentration in their professional lives. Students can use this powerful meditation to improve their mental clarity and concentration. Practitioners of Bon and other spiritual traditions use this for increased spiritual growth, development and transformation, leading to discover your true self.
