The Yeru Bön Center is a 501 (c) 3 spiritual community headquartered in Minneapolis, MN with a Yeru Bön Center in Los Angeles, CA and sister spiritual communities throughout the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia. We are dedicated to preserving and promoting the indigenous teachings and spiritual practices of Tibet – the Yungdrung Bön tradition.

    Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche

    Founder and Spiritual Director

    Rinpoche oversees all spiritual functions of Yeru Bön Center. He works closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the spiritual principals and goals of Yeru Bön Center are reflected in its programs, events, curriculum, retreats and guest speakers from around the world. Rinpoche is currently working with Yeru Bön Center’s Integrated Health and Wellness Committee to create a program that combines Bön meditation and healing with Western health and wellness techniques.

    David Peteler

    President / Director

    David met Rinpoche in 1987, when he visited sMenry Monastery in Dolanji, India. From the moment they met each other, they have had a strong student/teacher/brotherhood relationship. As President, David oversees all of the functions of the Yeru Board and committees. David also serves as attorney for Yeru Bön Center. David brings over thirty years of experience with business and law, and over thirty years as Rinpche’s student, to Yeru Bön Center.

    Deborah Peteler

    Secretary / Administrative Director / Director

    Devoted daughter, mother and grandmother, Deborah works tirelessly for those around her. Deborah is Yeru Bön Center’s hard-working, very talented administrator, manager, videographer and much more. She works closely with Rinpoche to manage scheduling, content production and day-to-day activities of the center.

    Bernadette Clevenger

    Doctor / Director

    Dr. Bernadette Clevenger, a family and holistic medicine doctor in St. Paul, is leading a new initiative to bring additional health services to Bön Children’s Home in Dolanji, India.

    Nick Tichawa

    Webmaster / Director

    Nick is the web designer for yeruboncenter.org, doortobon.org, and thebonchildrenshome.com. He also helps translate, edit, and publish texts for Rinpoche, and he produces our podcast, Böncast.
