Deborah Gilmaker
July 13, 1957 – September 8, 2014
Our longtime friend and tsogme member, Dr. Deborah Gilmaker, transitioned to the Bardo on September 8, 2014 of natural causes. She was a dedicated bonpo, a beloved member of the Yeru community, an accomplished healer, groundbreaking acupuncturist, Chinese medicine practitioner, and faithful friend. She was a proud mother to three sons – Alexander, Maximilian and Harrison, as well as partner to John McDonald. Please keep them all in your prayers.
As we shared in a final farewell ceremony for Dr. Deb on Sunday, September 21st officiated by Chaphur Rinpoche, the family requested donations be made to benefit the Bön Children’s Home. To that end, the Deborah Gilmaker Memorial Fund has been created to exclusively benefit the Bön Children’s Home in Dolanji, India. It is a cause that was very dear to Dr. Deb’s heart. It will benefit hundreds of children in the region providing them with the education, health care and spiritual guidance that has been a hallmark of the Bön Children’s Home since its inception.
