Yeru Bon Center’s 10th Annual
24-hour Global Prayer for World Peace

The 667th Birth Anniversary of
Gyalwa Nyipa Nyammed Sherab Gyaltsen

When Yeru Bön Center and Rinpoche decided to start an annual Global Prayer event and to do so honoring Gyalwa Nyipa Nyammed Sherab Gyaltsen’s Birth Anniversary, we had no idea how special this event would be annually for Bonpos, and Friends of Bön.

We have received digital images from soldiers participating, the White House, Bönpos, friends and others and it has been a great joy to host this event.

This year we celebrate this event’s 10th year of offering prayers globally for World Peace. We host this event on the birth anniversary of Gyalwa Nyipa Nyammed Sherab Gyaltsen because on this auspicious day, our prayers are multiplied 100,000 times. We all know we can use as many prayers as possible for world peace, for victims of terrible events, for our lost children, for people who are ill, for the epidemics we are still managing. For all people who are suffering. For our leaders to show compassion to other countries. Here is the big one: For Love and Compassion of all sentient beings.

Here is how it works:
On February 24, 2023, Gyalwa Nyipa Nyammed Sherab Gyaltsen’s birth anniversary. sMenri Monastery will begin the Global Prayer at 7:00 p.m. their time zone. Then the blanket of prayer will continue west. You just need to be mindful to begin your prayer at 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in your time zone.

For 24 hours the prayers will begin at sMenri Monastery and continue west for 24 hours and ends at sMenri Monastery.

You can meet with your Sangha/Tsokme group, or you can be alone.

We will provide a Global Prayer Zoom room for students to participate in via Zoom as well.

It is not mandatory to log onto Zoom, but it is a good way to connect with others who will be participating in this special event.
All you need to do is join the Zoom room, quietly, as people will be praying during their time zone. And starting at 7:00 p.m. your time zone you can begin your prayers and or meditation until 8:00 p.m.

There is no fee for participating in the 24-hour Global Prayer. But we do ask you to register. This way, you can continue to receive updated information regarding this global prayer event. We will send the list of registered participants to sMenri Monastery, where the monks will do a special blessing for all participants.

Rinpoche has chosen the Meditation Chamma Prayer and Lami Naljor for everyone to recite.

When you register, you will receive the Dropbox link for these prayers. But you can recite any prayer or nyenpas you feel comfortable with.

In the past we have had people participating from various organizations and churches, and they use the prayers that work best for them.

You don’t have to be a Bön practitioner to participate. We ask that you bring your open warm heart, compassion, love, and light into your prayers and meditation for everyone to feel and hear. Send your prayers out to all sentient beings.

If the sound of our prayers and meditation can be felt around the world, and if they embrace others and ourselves like a blanket of blessings around the world, what a joy and a blessing!

Please join us again, or join us for the first time, for our 10th annual Global Prayer event for World Peace and Harmony.

You are all invited to the Yeru Retreat Center for the weekend of February 24th, 2023 as we are doing a special ceremony to honor this 10th year of this event. There is no fee for attending. All are welcome. Rinpoche would like hundreds/thousand candles lit on this special evening and asks that you bring candles and or offerings to create a very special alter in honor of Gyalwa Nyipa Nyammed Sherab Gyaltsen birth anniversary and the 10th anniversary of our global world peace event. A weekend of prayer and meditation for World Peace.
