Yeru Bön Center’s 7th Annual
Global Prayer for World Peace and Harmony

February 28, 2019 (your time zone)

This is of our genuinely favorite events. When we started this Annual Global Prayer event seven years ago, we wondered if Bonpos around the world would consider being a part of this. We were so happy to have so many people participating, not only Bonpo’s, but people from many different cultures and religions. We had soldiers who gathered to pray, we had our elected officials participating, we received letters from the Obama administration thanking us for such a special global event.

For the past seven years, we received pictures of people participating, and our hearts feel full with joy to have people from around the world praying for world peace. People pray, meditate, recite mantras, and connect with each other for 24 hours of prayer and meditation for world peace, for our soldiers for our government, for people in need, and so much more.

So, as with the past seven years, on February 28th, on the birth anniversary of Nyamed Shenrab Gyaltsen, the founder of sMenri Monastery, the main monastery of Bon, we connect in prayer and meditation for one hour in your time zones. This date has always been chosen because on the anniversary of Nyamed Shenrab Gyaltsen’s birthday, as the power of our prayers is multiplied by 100,000.

Here is how it works: During the hours of 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in your time zone, we ask that you find a quiet place to pray and or meditate. This begins at sMenri Monastery and ends 24 hours later at sMenri Monastery.

You can meet together with your Sangha/Tsokme group, or you can be alone. In the past, groups have gathered for dinner before their prayer time. We ask if you can please send photos or video clips to share on our social media Facebook page.

There is no fee for this day, but we do ask you to register, so you can continue to receive update information regarding this global prayer event. We then send this information to sMenri Monastery.

Rinpoche has included the Zhi Gyur prayer for everyone to recite. On registration you will receive this prayer. As we have always said, If your sound of prayers and meditation can be felt around the world and embraces others and ourselves like a blanket of blessings. What joy to feel someone’s love, connection, and understanding from around the world.

So here we invite you to join us again, or join us for the first time, for our 7th annual Global Prayer event for World Peace and Harmony.
