Basics of Tibetan Medicine

External Therapies

January 30th
4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Central Time

Via Zoom
Dr. Paz and Dr. Ryam
Tibetan Medicine Doctors

The Tibetan medical system is one of the world’s oldest known medical traditions. It is a complete metaphysical tradition encompassing all parts of the energetic bodies.

The origins of Tibetan Medicine go back to the shamanistic Bon era of Tibet, pre-dating the arrival of Buddhism to the country. Aspects of traditional Chinese, Indian (Ayurvedic), as well as Persian and Greek medical systems, were incorporated through the centuries. The Five Elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space) are considered the base of existence and its cycles.

Another foundation of Tibetan Medicine is the traditional Buddhist belief, that all illness ultimately results from the three mental poisons: ignorance, attachment, and aversion. These correlate with the three primary bodies of Badkan (skrt.’Kapha’), rLung (skrt.:’Vata’) and mKhrispa (skrt.’Pitta’). This is also dependent on each person’s unique mental, emotional, and physical constitution along with circumstances such as illnesses that arise or healing that has been achieved.

Dr. Paz and Dr. Ryam will discuss the benefits of Tibetan Medicine and the External Therapies for health and wellness and healing.

This talk will be for 1.5 hours. Recorded.

There will be Spanish Translation available.
