Bön Spiritual Journey

Led by Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche

September 14th – October 2nd, 2022

You must come with true trust, genuine motivation, and an open heart of infinite space to receive the Yogic Style teaching – taking as it is and building inner self connections to gain true authentic experience.

– Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche

This September 2022, Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche will take a group of Bön practitioners on a spiritual pilgrimage in Nepal. We invite you to join us on the special pilgrimage to learn and develop a deeper connection with Bön tradition, its masters, teachings and people.

We start in Kathmandu, where Rinpoche will show us several important Bön spiritual sites. We then go north to Pokhara, Nepal’s second largest city and gateway to the Annapurna range, then on to Jomsom in the Lower Mustang area. We will visit Bön Holy sites along the way, until we reach Lubrack, a small Bönpo village. There, Rinpoche will give five days of Yogic Bön teachings inside caves that have been used by Bön masters as retreat caves for centuries.

Actually, we begin our spiritual pilgrimage long before we arrive in Nepal. Your pilgrimage begins the moment you decide you will go on this journey. Starting then, be prepared in your mind, body and spirit to be open to receive all of the blessings that will come to you on this pilgrimage.

The Plans: Our current plan is to meet in Kathmandu on September 14th. Rinpoche has arranged for several places to visit: Tritin Norbutse Monastery, Drenpa Namka’s Holy site and other areas.

We leave for Pokhara on September 19th , 2022, for rest, acclimation and site seeing. We leave to Jomsom on September 21st, we will spend a couple of days visiting site. Then off to Lubrak on September 23, 2022. Rinpoche will take us to Bön Holy sites and to teach inside the Bön caves.

We start back to Kathmandu on September 29th, spending one day in Jomsom and Pokara, ending our pilgrimage on October 1st.

We’ve arranged for hotels and transportation starting in Kathmandu, to Lubrak and returning to Kathmandu. We’ve hired a trekking company to handle logistics, meals and details.

You will be responsible to arrange your own transportation to Kathmandu and back. You are welcome to come early or stay late, but you will be responsible for your hotels and meals outside of the pilgrimage period.

We are strongly requesting anyone interested in joining this pilgrimage that you are in good physical condition with no serious health problems. We will be traveling at altitudes up 9,500 feet. Some of the transportation will be by jeep on unimproved roads. Some minor hiking up to the caves and other sites will be required. We will have rest days along the way. Participants should prepare themselves in the months before departure to be in good physical condition and ready for this trip.

This pilgrimage will be a beautiful spiritual experience enhanced with beautiful scenery. The trip will be a memorable lifetime experience. Rinpoche has been working on this pilgrimage for years and wanted to be sure everyone joining will have a deeper connection with the history of Bön and an understanding of the Bön tradition.
