SUMMARY:Three Pathways of Yungdrung Bön – Year 1
DESCRIPTION:Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche’s teaching of…\nThe Three Pathways of Yungdrung Bön\nPong Lam Dho  –  Path of Renunciation\nGyur Lam Ngag – Path of Transformation\nDrol Lam Dzogpo Chempo – Path of Self Liberation\nAlso known as Dho Ngag Sem Sum\nA Three-Year Journey into the Heart of Yungdrung Bön\nWe are deeply honored to announce that Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche will be offering a profound three-year course on the Three Paths of Yungdrung Bön: \n\nDho (Skt. Sutra) – The Path of Renunciation\nNgag (Skt. Tantra) – The Path of Transformation\nSem (Dzogchen) – The Path of Self-Liberation\n\nIn the Yungdrung Bön tradition\, according three different paths of practice. A practitioner may move through them progressively by establishing ethical discipline through Dho\, learning secret transformation practices through Ngag\, and eventually resting in the direct recognition of awareness through Sem. \nEach path honors the same goal: \nThe full awakening of wisdom and compassion for the benefit of all beings. \n\nHere Is Where We Start\nYear One:\nDho (Skt. Sutra) \nThe Path of Renunciation to Purify Defilements\nOctober 5 – 12 2026\nArrival October 4th — Departure October 13th\n\nYeru Retreat Center\nEmily\, MN\nIn person and Via Zoom \nWe begin this sacred journey with Dho\, the textual\, philosophical\, and renunciate tradition. \nThe Dho path lays the essential foundation for all higher practices. It emphasizes: \n\nEthical discipline\nCultivating compassion and loving-kindness\nUnderstanding causes and karma\nReflecting on impermanence and the nature of suffering\nTraining the mind through study\, contemplation\, and meditation\nPathway on how to renounce five poisons and over emotions\nTen Transcendental practice – par chin chu\nFive paths Lam Ngag and ten stages of Earth ~ Sachu according to Pong Lam Dho\nZhi Ney ~ Grounding your concentration and emptiness according to Pong Lam Dho.\n\nIn this first retreat\, Rinpoche will guide students into the heart of Sutra teachings — helping them understand how purification of body\, speech\, and mind creates stability for deeper realization. \nParticipants will: \n\nReceive detailed teachings on foundational philosophy\nEngage in guided meditations\nLearn how to examine and refine their conduct\nEstablish a disciplined daily practice\nReceive structured work and contemplation assignments to complete throughout the year\nThree Online Sessions Throughout the year – scheduled as a group\nGroup Practice Session to work on the workbook as a group.\n\nMore than a retreat\, this is the beginning of a committed training cycle. \nRinpoche will provide teachings\, practice instructions\, and meaningful integration work so that students do not merely hear the Bön teaching\, but live it. \n\n Year Two: \nNgag (Skt. Tantra)\nThe Path of Transformation\nDate to Be Determined as a Group \nThe second year enters Ngag\, Sangwa Ngag\, the path of transformation and lineage transmission. \nHere\, rather than renouncing difficult emotions\, practitioners learn how to transform them into wisdom. The energies of anger\, attachment\, pride\, jealousy\, and ignorance become fuel for awakening. \nUnder Rinpoche’s guidance\, students will learn: \n\nThe principles of transformation\nDeity visualization practices\nSecret Recitations (Ngag; skt. Mantra) and ritual methods\nWorking skillfully with subtle energy\nSacred symbolism and Kyil Khor (Skt. Mandala)\n\nNgag is powerful and direct\, but it requires the ethical stability established through Dho. \nParticipants will: \n\nReceive detailed teachings Ngag on foundational philosophy\nEngage in guided meditations\nLearn how to examine and refine their knowledge on Ngag\nEstablish a disciplined daily practice\nReceive structured work and contemplation assignments to complete throughout the year\nThree Online Sessions Throughout the year – scheduled as a group\nGroup Practice Session to work on the workbook as a group.\n\n  \n\nYear Three: \nSem (Dzogchen)\nThe Path of Self-Liberation\nDate to Be Determined as a Group \nIn the final year\, students enter Path of Sem\, which is Dzogchen: The Great Perfection. \nThis is the path of direct recognition of the mind’s true nature. Rather than gradually purifying or transforming\, one learns to recognize awareness itself and allow thoughts to self-liberate. \nRinpoche will introduce: \n\nThe view of Dzogchen\nDirect experiential instructions\nMeditation in natural awareness\nIntegration of realization into daily life\n\nThis is considered the most direct path.  Yet it rests upon the stability cultivated in the first two years. \nA Rare and Precious Opportunity \nIt is rare to receive systematic instruction in all three traditions directly from an authentic lineage holder. \n\nThis three-year journey is designed for serious students who wish to deepen their understanding and practice of Yungdrung Bön in a structured and integrated way. \nEach year will include: \n\nIn-person retreat teachings or Zoom Participation\nThree Online Practice sessions for each Course – Date determined as a group\nAssigned contemplations and integration work throughout the year to prepare for the next course. Each Student Will Receive a workbook.\nGroup Practice Session to work on the workbook as a group.\nOne session with Rinpoche\, each year via Zoom or in person.\n\nWe begin October 5th – 12th with Dho\, the essential foundation. \nIf you feel called to commit to a complete path — one that purifies\, transforms\, and ultimately self-liberates — we warmly invite you to join this extraordinary cycle of teachings. \n\nNOTE: \nHousing \nThe Yeru Retreat Center has multiple housing options\, some can be shared or private. \nWe warmly welcome you to stay at the retreat center which will create a supportive environment for practice\, study\, and community. \nAs part of the early registration\, and as long as rooms are still available\, your registration will include a room at the retreat center. \nBecause space is limited\, rooms will be offered on a first-come basis.
