Dhorpatan Bön Pilgrimage
Nepal
April 18th – April 30th, 2027
Led by Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche
This sacred journey, guided by Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche, is a rare opportunity to deepen your connection with the ancient Yungdrung Bön tradition and its living lineage. Your pilgrimage begins in Kathmandu, where the air hums with the rhythm of prayer wheels, temple bells, and chanting monks. You will visit Triten Norbutse Monastery, a vibrant center of Bön study and practice overlooking the Kathmandu Valley, and feel the powerful stillness of Boudhanath Stupa, one of the most revered spiritual sites in Nepal.
From there, the road unfolds toward Pokhara, with its serene lake reflecting the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, and onward to Dhorpatan, home of Tashi Gégye Thaten Ling, the first Bön monastery established in exile.
Nearby, the Bönpo medical school and clinic continues the ancient art of healing through Tibetan herbs gathered from the surrounding mountains. You may meditate within hidden Bön caves, or gaze upon the grandeur of Annapurna from a short helicopter flight—each moment awakening new layers of understanding.
This pilgrimage is not only a passage through sacred lands but a profound inner journey—an encounter with the spirit of Bön alive in nature, in ancient teachings, and within yourself. It is an experience that may become one of the defining spiritual milestones of your life.
Prepare your mind, body and spirit to be open to receiving all the blessings that will come to you on this pilgrimage.
