Yeru Bon Center Welcomes back sMenri Shadrub Khenpo Geshe Nyima Dhondup Rinpoche.
We are honored to announce the return of Rinpoche, the esteemed head teacher of the Bon Dialectc School at sMenri Monastery in Dolanji, India.
This teaching is ideal for both newcomers to Bön and seasoned practitioners. Shedrab Khenpo Geshe’s charismatic teaching style and deep knowledge of Bön make his teachings both engaging and transformative.
We warmly invite you to join us for this special teaching visit and experience his wisdom firsthand.
This teaching of the Magyud is a remarkable addition to our growing treasury of Bön wisdom:
According to the “Magyud Thugje Nyime Drol lam Rinche Phur kyen” (མ་རྒྱུད་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཉི་མའི་གྲོལ་ལམ་རིན་ཆེན་འཕུར་རྐྱེན) commentary composed by the royal Bönpo master Mi Lü Samlek; the one who is lord of tantric practice and the master of accomplishment:
“The mind is the root of all happiness and suffering, and the creator of both samsara and nirvana. Therefore, it must be tamed. If one can tame one’s own mind, one will gain mastery over appearances, develop the power of awareness, and definitely achieve both temporary and ultimate benefit and happiness”.
The profound essential points of meditation practice are the methods for taming one’s mind.
It is extremely important to actually practice these oneself and to correctly understand the unmistaken sequence of how to practice.
For this reason, if one understands the profound essential points of practice of the Nine Instructions on mindfulness (མཚན་མ་སེམས་འཛིན་གྱི་ཁྲིད་དགུ) as explained in the Liberation Path text, one becomes skilled in the stages of elevating, holding and taming the mind. This is highly praised for bringing the mind to its natural state and will develop the power of primordial wisdom.
The Nine Instructions on mindfulness are:
Three stages of elevation through the power of contemplation:
1. Elevating the place through the nature of the wheel of light
2. Elevating the body through the nature of the magical net
3. Elevating the mind through the nature of the golden bee
Three stages of holding the mind:
1. Holding the mind based on the external sphere of appearance
2. Holding the mind based on the internal sphere of realization
3. Holding the mind based on the mind sphere of self-awareness
Three stages of methods for taming the mind:
1. Taming the mind based on the mind and conduct of the guru
2. Taming the mind based on the mind and conduct of the yidam
3. Taming the mind based on the mind and conduct of the dakinis
