September 15th – 17th, 2023
Yeru Retreat Center
Zoom
Yeru Bön Center is very happy to announce that, for the first time, an amazing opportunity to have Shedrub Khenpo Geshe Nyima Dhondup, teacher of the Bön Dialectic School at sMenri Monastery in Dolanji, India, will teach at Yeru Retreat Center. This is a great honor.
We are all searching for great peace and joy. Bön teaches that ultimate happiness comes when we are free from suffering. That can only be attained when we become Sangye, or enlightened, and achieve the pure state of Kuntu Zangpo, the primordial enlightened one. Rinpoche will teach on the Bardo and how we can attain enlightenment through proper understanding of the Bardo experiences.
There are many sources of Bardo teachings. Rinpoche has selected one of the most precious series of teachings on the Bardo, the Magyud Sangye Gyud Sum (the Three Enlightenments Cycle of the Ma Gyud (Mother Tantra).
The Bardo generally refers to the period of time after we leave this current life and our consciousness roams before our next birth. Rinpoche will describe how, during the Bardo period, we will undergo five experiences:
1. The gradual cessations of visions before death;
2. The gradual cessation and dissolution of elements of the body;
3. The cessation of Sog (life force energy or chi);
4. The cessation of emotions; and
5. The appearance of the Bardo of Clear Light, and how to integrate it into the path.
If we realize our true inner nature state of mind during these experiences, then we will have a smooth passage through the Bardo and attain enlightenment.
During this teaching, Shedrup Khenpo Geshe Nyima Dhondup Rinpoche will teach us the details of how to put this teaching into practice.
