Yeru Bön Center is offering a Yungdrung Bön Book Club focusing on books related to Bon.
The book club will be led on Zoom by Bernadette Clevenger and Sarah Tichawa. We will meet monthly over several months to discuss the assigned pages and do a short practice.
Bernadette and Sarah will begin the Book club on September 26th at 7:00 p.m. central time.
Letter from Bernadette:
We will be offering a book club this fall based on Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche’s book, The Inner Mirror.
The Inner Mirror is Rinpoche’s commentary on the A-tri system of Dzogchen. The A-tri system is based on fifteen sessions that lead a practitioner from the preliminary practices of ngondro, through the meditation practices of ngozhi, to the fruit of the practices, the achievement of self-liberation and rainbow body of light.
The book is a true treasure filled with Rinpoche’s wisdom. He outlines the steps of the A-tri system in a manner that the student can understand illustrated with stories and examples from daily life. Even if one has read the book once or twice, there awaits deeper wisdom to discover with each new reading.
We will meet monthly over several months to discuss the assigned pages and do a short practice. We will send out questions before the sessions to stimulate conversation. The goal of this book club is to deepen our understanding and practice of Yungdrung Bön as well as bring this wisdom into our everyday life.
We hope to have everyone participate in the discussion so we can share each other’s insights!
The first session will be on September 26 at 7 pm central time. We will record the sessions so you can watch if you are unable to attend.
There is no charge for the book club, however we would be grateful for any donation to support the Bön Children’s Home.
You can purchase, The Inner Mirror on The Door to Bön – doortobon.org.
At the end of The Inner Mirror Series, another book, based on Yungdrung Bön will be chosen for the next series. Suggestions will be taken.
